This book was good, i love Alanna, and i love George, even Jonathan is nice. reading this book after reading a few books that saying i didn't like would be an understatement makes me aprreciate the writing style and the way Pierce handles the plot. then why only 3 stars? because compared to the first book i liked it less. in the first book Pierce wasn't afraid to challenge Alanna although she was a girl, and i admired that. this time she was softer with her, careful with the fact that Alanna is a girl and therefor not quick to put her in dangerous situations. another thing is the feeling that Alanna had things easy for her, way easy this time. they almost fell into her reaching hands. but what i found more annoying was the way Alanna suddenly tried to act like a girl and learn how to be a girl. in a way that came out of nowhere, and then realizing what was the reason behind it was disappointing. so in general i liked the book, and i can't wait to read the other two, but i liked the first one better.
